Texas DWI Education Program - 12-Hour Course
The DWI Education Program is a standardized 12-hour course for individuals who have been directed to complete DWI education by a court, community supervision department, employer, attorney, or another referring agency. The program provides education about alcohol and drugs and how they affect driving skills. Course topics include Texas DWI laws, alcohol and drug traffic-safety issues, effects on the body and driving abilities, individual drinking or drug-use and driving patterns, chemical dependency, warning signs, available sources of assistance, the financial and personal costs of DWI, decision-making, and development of a personal plan intended to reduce the likelihood of future DWI behavior. Requirements and completion deadlines may differ by case. Before registering, confirm with your court, probation officer, attorney, employer, or referring agency that the DWI Education Program is the course you are required to complete.
